Technical
Aspects
Cybertesis.NET bases its searches on collected data or "harvesting"
in the sites that use the Cybertesis Program and that have their
port of OAI opened for the consultation. The use of OAI, makes
possible that Institutions can share their theses, independent
of the platform that use for the generation and indexing of their
information. They only must be compatible with this protocol.
Cybertesis.NET
uses the program of data collection via OAI called ARC (http://dlib.cs.odu.edu
), developed by the Old Dominion University. The data that ARC
collects store in a data base MySQL and scripts of consultation
and display of the answers developed in language Perl, although
also PHP can be used.
